Callicoon Chinooks
Thank you for visiting Callicoon Chinooks. We are a small kennel located in southeastern NY state. Our five dogs are an integral part of our lives. Each of them is an individual, with their own strengths, weaknesses, likes and dislikes, just like people.
Our kennel name comes from our foundation dog, CH ‘PR’ Pippa Passes Callicoon. She was named for a creek in the Catskills, near Chuck’s family’s farm. It is one of the most beautiful places we know.
We focus on breeding healthy, happy family pets with the structure, drive and attitude to be versatile working dogs. We strive for the strength, stamina and congeniality of the historic Chinook; qualities that modern dogs can demonstrate in sledding, weight pull, agility, herding, tracking and obedience.

All of our dogs are worked in harness recreationally. We also train in agility and attend obedience classes with each of our dogs. Mostly, we hang out and enjoy one another’s company.
